We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Country Dog Show on Sunday 7^th August! We had a fantastic time seeing you and your four-legged friends and we were blown away by the amount of supporters who attended.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that over £13,000 was raised at the event! This is an incredible amount and will make a huge difference to the rescue animals in our care.

 

 

With bright blue skies and the sun shining all day, we made sure that our furry friends had plenty of access to water bowls across the site, shelter and our popular Cool-down Zone, which included several paddling pools and wet towels, to keep the dogs cool throughout the day.

Congratulations to all the dogs who won a rosette in the dog show classes, the judges certainly had many tough decisions to make during the event! The Have-a-go-Agility was well supported throughout the day too and we were very grateful to have Dorset Dash Hounds with us, who hosted the fantastic Flyball.

The trading village was busy with attendees browsing through the wonderful selection of stalls from local traders and there were many delicious refreshment options available from the food and drink stalls too.

We were thrilled to be joined by Liberty’s Birds of Prey, Dorset Car Club, East Dorset Bat Rescue and Rehabilitation, WorldLife and Wareham Fire and Rescue, who provided brilliant displays and information on the work they do at the event. The Children’s Activity Corner also proved to be very popular throughout the day and the team had a great time on the face painting stall, where there was a fun selection of designs to choose from!

We really enjoyed watching performances from the fabulous Allsort’d and Andy O’Sullivan, who did a great job of creating a relaxing atmosphere with acoustic music for our supporters to chill out and enjoy during the afternoon.

 

      

 

The Police Dog Demonstration from Dorset Police was very well received, with amazing search demos performed by PD Loxley, PD Jeff, TPD Goose and RPD Blade. This was a great opportunity for everyone to discover more about their work in the Police Service and how they protect their communities.

Tickets for our Grand Draw, Holiday Raffle, Hampers and Summer Raffle were flying out throughout the day, with many exciting prizes up for grabs, including some generous donations from local businesses. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and helped us to raise such a brilliant amount for rescue animals in need.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Animal Friends Pet Insurance for sponsoring the event this year and for all their continued support. It was fantastic to welcome the team to the event, who hosted an amazing stand and gave attendees the opportunity to have a Polaroid taken of their dog on the day.
