(Almost) as big as a lion but as timid as a mouse, is how the carers at Lincoln Farm would best describe our charming Reggie, a 42kg Dogue de Bordeaux.

Reg came into the centre after being picked up as a stray. On first impressions we could see that he was very timid and untrusting of people, and we had a long way to go to win him over. With a lot of time, patience and the help of freshly cooked chicken, Reggie is learning to love his humans again and his cheeky personality is blossoming through. But be prepared to be covered in kisses once you make it into his inner circle!

At 18 months old, he is still only a youngster and has a lot to learn about the world. Although he is thoroughly enjoying his ‘schooling’ and gets to go on lots of adventures, sniffing and exploring in the local areas. He has definitely mastered his lead-manners too!

As he hasn't yet passed his spatial awareness course and can be a little apprehensive when meeting new people, we would love to find him an adult family that is used to having the larger breeds in their home. His ideal adopters need to be able to commit to regular visits and once he's happy, provide a quiet environment to support him to settle into their home.

Reggie gets on well with a lot of the dogs here at Lincoln Farm and on his outings, and we feel he would be comfortable living in a home with a confident and laidback (canine) big sister but no other pets.
