This handsome looking lad is called Lenny, and he is a lovely 3-year-old male lurcher who is looking for an equally lovely family to call his own.

Lenny was in a quite a bad way when he first came into our care after being found all by himself as a stray. He was very underweight, weak and had sores all over his body – he was in desperate need of veterinary treatment and lots of TLC. After a few weeks in our care with some good food and lots of cuddles, he has now started to flourish, and his cheeky personality is coming into its own.

The team feel he is now more than ready to take the next step in his journey and are excited to help him find his perfect match. We think that this cheeky chappy would be best suited to an older family made up of teenagers and adults.

Now that he is back up to full health and his energy levels are back to normal, we are seeing his full personality which can be very full on. He can be very vocal in his play and introductions with other dogs which will need to be carefully managed by his new family to prevent any reactivity from escalating. Our team have been helping him learn some doggy etiquette, especially when he is on the lead, and this has been going well so this will give his new owners a good foundation to continue this training with him.

Given Lenny’s history it is possible that he won’t have lived in a home environment before so we are looking to match him with a forever family who will be committed to helping him to adapt to his new surroundings and routine. Everything will likely be new and possibly a little worrying for him initially and his new family will need to be kind and patient with him during this time.

We think that Lenny would be most comfortable being the only dog in the home so he can enjoy playing and bonding with his new family. A home without cats would be the best fit for Mr Lenny. Our team will be on hand to help this lovely lad and his new family transition into his forever home.
