This Valentine's Day, we are delighted to share a happy love story from Freddie & Dumpling, who are two gorgeous Shetland ponies that recently went to their loving new home.

 

 

Freddie is a cheeky chap who came back into the care of our Church Knowle centre last spring, after the very sad loss of his companion. We can’t imagine how heart-breaking this must have been for dear little Freddie, so we were relieved to be able to pair him up with another lovely lad, Polo, who entered our care a few weeks later.

It was only 3 months later that beautiful Dumpling entered our care with a goat called Danny, who was her closest friend, as she had sadly not been around any other ponies until she arrived at Church Knowle. Once Dumpling had settled in, she was introduced to Freddie & Polo and she slotted right into their group.

 

 

We like to think it may have been love at first sight, as Freddie & Dumpling soon became close companions and it was clear that this little husband & wife were going to be at their happiest finding a new home together!

It wasn’t long after Polo found his new home, with another ex-MGAR resident called Amber, that Freddie & Dumpling were reserved and getting ready to be swept off their hooves by their new owners.

 

      

 

Even though we really miss looking after this adorable pair, we were so pleased to wave them goodbye and watch them leave the centre, ready to start the next chapter of their lives.

We are thrilled that they have gone to a wonderful home with a companion called Fi, where their head collars even match the colour of their very own hay nets!
