Our volunteers are an incredibly ‘im-paw-tant’ part of our team. There is something so special about donating your time in order to improve the lives of those who do not have a voice to ask for help.

Do you love being at the heart of the charity retail community? Are you a real ‘people person,’ who also has an artistic flair for creativity? If so, then we may just have the perfect volunteer role for you!

We have 7 charity shops across Dorset with our most recent opening in December 2023, right in the heart of the Wareham community in this beautiful & historic town.

Our aim is to raise funds for the rescue animals who need us through our charity shops, and to promote our work to wonderful, local supporters.

We are always on the lookout for fabulous volunteers to join our teams in Dorset, and we would love to hear from you!

There are so many benefits to be gained by those who would like to come on board with us:

  • Meet new friends… and some gorgeous dogs in our four-legged friendly shops

  • Gain new professional skills

  • Use your knowledge & expertise for a great cause

  • Improve your wellbeing & fitness

  • Get the feel-good factor knowing how ‘pawsome’ you are!

An Overview Of The Role

  • Greeting supporters and receiving donations

  • Sorting through and preparing new stock for the shop floor

  • Creating exciting, different window displays to entice supporters to shop with us

  • Using the till to serve supporters who are shopping with us

  • Positively promoting Gift Aid as a free & easy way to boost donations

Full training is given to all our wonderful volunteers. We recognise the amazing and generous commitment you are making to our charity, and we want to invest in you too!

Not only that, our volunteers also receive a 10% discount when buying donated items, which is a gesture of gratitude from us, to you.

If you can spare a few hours, or more, each week to become a highly-valued member of our team, please apply by completing our Application Form and emailing Tom Chant, Retail Area Manager, at: tom.chant@mgar.org.uk
