Our CEO, Nigel Mason, was delighted to attend the Acer Awards at the start of the month, which were presented by Adam Clowes and Louise Crawford at Dogs Trust's Animal Welfare Scheme Seminar. The event took place in Stratford-upon-Avon and Nigel was honoured to attend the awards with PC Sue Hillier from Dorset Police. 

We are absolutely thrilled to share that the Community Superstar award was presented to handler PC Sue and PD Jeff, who was previously cared for by our Wingletang centre in 2020. After arriving at the centre, Jeff, who is a very handsome English Springer Spaniel, was assessed by Devon and Cornwall Police and they soon rehomed him for a career in the Police Service. Not long after that, Jeff completed his training with Dorset Police and has been protecting our communities ever since.

You may have even had the opportunity to see PD Jeff and PC Sue perform search demonstrations at our Country Dog Shows, where they showed the crowds their incredible skills and how they keep their communities safe. 

We are very proud of PD Jeff for winning this fantastic award and for everything he has achieved. Stories like Jeff's remind us of how vital our work is and the real importance of supporting rescue animals in need. We wouldn't be able to do this without our amazing supporters, like you, who help us to look after the animals in our care. 

We would like to say a huge well done to PD Jeff and PC Sue for all their hard work! Nigel was honoured to attend the evening and to be there to congratulate Sue on their award.
